What We Do
We are pleased to be able to offer each family customized and exclusive use of our facilities during your gathering, service, or cremation all in one convenient location
Funerals
Today, there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to have a funeral. Brampton Cremation & Visitation Centre Inc strives to ensure that each funeral service we organize is unique to the person who has passed away. We will sit with your family to discuss your culture, faith and traditions and help make decisions that are right for you. Will your loved one be buried or cremated? Will there be a large religious service with many people in attendance or a small, intimate gathering with only close family present? Your loved one’s favourite photos, music, flowers and keepsakes can play a role in making sure the funeral reflects them and the life they lived and we will do our best to honour all your family’s requests and ideas.
Cremation
Many families have started choosing cremation for their loved ones at time death, an option that has become increasingly popular among Canadians over the last several years. When it comes to cremation, there are several options a family can choose to best celebrate their loved one.
Burial
We offer a number of burial service options at our facility and assist with selecting a final disposition that meets the needs and expectations of the family.
Whatever your choices and preferences, We are here to help you to make the right decisions. We will take care of the details so you can focus on your own family.
Memorial
With this option, the loved one’s disposition (burial or cremation) is held first and there is a structured funeral service after. You can decide to have a less formal service by having a celebration of life gathering instead.
Oftentimes families decide to have a reception at our facility after this type of service. We will guide you in making it the right service for your loved one.

FAQ
FUNERALS
PLANNING AHEAD
FUNERALS
The cost of a funeral depends entirely on the wishes of the loved one and their family. Those who want a basic cremation will pay something different then a person who wishes to have a traditional funeral with burial. There are many items that can influence the cost of a funeral as well, such as your choice of casket, flowers, or stationary package, if you wish to have a reception following your funeral service, etc. Our staff are happy to sit with you to discuss your funeral wish and make sure they are affordable and fit within your budget.
No, you do not have to be embalmed if that is not what you want. No funeral home can force a person to be embalmed if that is against their wishes. When a family chooses to have an open casket for a visitation or service, embalming can often be a good idea to ensure your loved one looks as good as possible, however if the funeral service is happening quickly may not be needed. Please speak to one of our funeral directors to decide if embalming is something you may wish to work into your funeral plans.
We understand that sometimes the death of a loved one is unexpected and there is not always money at hand to pay for a funeral, but a rule of thumb is that payment is expected sometime between the date the contract is signed and the day of the funeral service. If you want to ensure your family will not have to worry about how to pay for your funeral, we encourage to consider pre-planning your funeral. More information on preplanning can be found HERE. For more information on cultural funerals, click HERE.
Just as every person in the world is unique, so should be every funeral. Perhaps your mother was known for her samosa recipe. We can print memorial cards to give our to her funeral attendees with the recipe on them so that everyone can continue to enjoy her signature dish. Was your dad a sports fan? We can have his sports memorabilia displayed during his visitation and service and suggest people attend his funeral wearing their favourite sports jerseys. Our staff our happy to help you decide the best ways to personalize your loved one’s funeral so that it is a true reflection of they life they led. For more information on personalized funerals, click HERE.
Not every funeral has to be a full traditional service. Consider having a smaller celebration of life after the cremation or burial of your loved one. It allows family and friends to come together and remember the life of a person they cared deeply for, without the need for religion or traditional customs. Celebrations of Life can happen weeks, or sometimes months after the death of a loved one and is usually a much more laid-back affair then a traditional funeral. Please click HERE for more information about this funeral option.
Yes, of course we can. Whatever the religion of your loved one, we are happy to help organize their funeral in accordance with their religious customs. We are proud to be able draw on our wide network of priests, pandits, ministers, and other members of the clergy to ensure your loved one’s funeral reflect their religion’s traditions and customs. PLANNING AHEAD
Pre-planning your funeral in advance has two major benefits. Firstly, it saves money, as planning ahead protects against inflation. Secondly, it ensures your family is not left with the burden of making difficult decisions without knowing your wishes. By planning ahead, you are ensuring you get the funeral you want and that your family is protected.
In many cases, the Last Will & Testament of a person is not read in full until after their funeral, by which point decisions may have been carried out contrary to what you had intended. The best way to ensure you get the funeral you want is to pre-arrange it directly with a funeral home.
We suggest making an appointment with our Pre-planning Director to sit down and discuss your wishes. There is never an obligation to purchase pre-arrangements, but our Pre-planning Director is happy to help educate you on your funeral options and help you make the decisions that are best for you and your family.
I intend to have my life insurance pay for my funeral, so why should I pay for pre-arrangements now?
Life insurance is wonderful to have in order to protect your family against financial issues when you pass away. However, life insurance does not protect against the rising costs of funerals. Depending on the value of your insurance policy, the cost of the funeral may end up taking a large portion of insurance payout, leaving your family in a vulnerable financial position. Pre-paying for your funeral locks in the costs in todays dollars, and therefore protects your insurance policy for your family to use for other important needs.
Yes, there are several payment plans available, in some cases as long as 15 years. It is our job to work with you to find the payment plan that best suits your financial needs.
You do not have to pay in advance. Sometimes when someone is sick and the death is imminent we suggest families plan and record wishes but not necessarily pay in advance. They can get all of the information including how much the cost of the service will be. If someone is planning ahead as a proactive measure then we would suggest paying as it would lock in the cost of the funeral.
When you pre-pay your funeral arrangements, your money is always kept extremely safe. By law in Ontario, your money must be kept by the third-party financial institution, such as a trust or insurance company, until the death occurs. Only then does a funeral home have access to the funds to pay for the funeral. These investments are also protected by Assuris, and our pre-arrangements are regularly audited by our regulatory body, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, to ensure all monies are accounted for.
We are an independent, family run funeral home that truly believes that we are here to serve our community. You can rest assured that we will look after you and your loved ones with the utmost care and professionalism to make a difficult time a little bit easier.
Pre-arrangements in Canada are built to be flexible and can follow you should you move to another town, or even to another province.
Absolutely. BCVC offers our families a comprehensive aftercare service which can look after the cancellation of Canadian government identification such as health card, drivers license, etc., notify various government agencies, cancel most credit cards, as well as help families apply for the CPP Death Benefit and Survivor’s Pension.
We offer our families a form of travel insurance called the Guaranteed Travel Assurance Plan. For a one-time fee of $495, this insurance will ensure that should you pass away more then 100km from your place of residence, your body will be brought home at no additional cost. It will also ensure that should you be traveling with a companion or pets, they will be brought home as well at no extra charge.
With a Guaranteed Travel Insurance Plan you have a designated 24/7 number to call if an emergency occurs. They have partner funeral homes throughout the world that can begin the planning process of getting your loved one back to Canada right away. The family will not need to pay anything as the $495 one time fee will cover all the expenses related to repatriation. Whereas with travel insurance, the family often has to find a funeral provider, pay upfront, and deal with the logistics of getting their loved one back.
