My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Rudy hired me at the Region in 2011 and was my Supervisor until he joyfully retired to spend time with his beloved family, mostly his cherished grandchildren. I am forever grateful to him for choosing me for a position in Richmond Hill and also blessed to have had him as a Supervisor and a friend. Res in Peace Rudy dear. With great respect, Patty Stephan

I'm very deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Suratt's passing. I remember him from when I was a little kid - he was always happy, always smiling and laughing. He had a genuine kindness and goodness about him that you don't see often in many people. I didn't see him often over the years but I remember going with my family to the beach in Trinidad with his family. We used to have a lot of fun together. It hurt me to hear that he had passed away. I cannot imagine the grief that Auntie Leela, Fiona, Lana and Declan must feel. His kindness and his heartfelt smile will always be remembered.

We don't know him by any of the above names but by "Dalkie". We have known Dalkie and Leela through mutual friends but when we met them, it was as though we knew each other for a long time. We "limed" and over the years, enjoyed each other's company. He was such a wonderful person, always thoughtful, knowledgeable, down to earth and a quiet, practical man. He always had a joke to tell and kept everyone laughing. Over the years, we all drifted apart but once in a while, we still called to see how things were. "Dalkie", you will always be remembered by us and our sincere condolences go out to the family, especially Leela.

Fiona and family - I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of working with and getting to know Rudy. He always had a smile on his face and there was never a dull moment. Rudy always had a special place in my life and always will. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Rat is the best friend and human being we were privileged to know in this lifetime. Every time we met were always special. We regret we did not say goodbye but we have so many good stories to treasure forever we will think of him all the time.
His generosity, laughter, thoughtfulness, cooking skills and always putting the other person first, we can never forget. We lost our friend too early but knowing Rat, he will greet us warmly when we meet again.
To his dear Leila, Fiona, Lana and Declan, if we feel devastated, how much more are you hurting. We love you dearly. We hope that your grief gets easier with each day and know how blessed you are to have him as a spouse and dad. We did not say goodbye, Rat, but knowing you, you will be there when we check in.
